An aide of an alleged "dreaded" criminal was killed while his another accomplice was arrested in an encounter in Bishambhara village in Shergarh area here, police said.
"While dreaded criminal Sahun, carrying a reward of Rs 3.50 lakh on his head, once again managed to give a slip to the police, his aide and cousin Kasim was killed in the encounter this afternoon," SSP Swapnil Mamgai said.
Iqbal, another associate of Sahun carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head was arrested, he said.
The encounter took place following a tip-off. The police cordoned off the area to nab Sahun but he managed to flee, Mamgai added.
