AIFF Academy beat East Bengal, TFA humiliates Shillong FC 2-1

East Bengal suffered a setback losing 2-3 to AIFF Academy while Tata Football Academy (TFA) pipped Shillong Lajong FC 2-1 in a closely fought third round encounters of U-19 I-League.

In another third round game, SESA Goa humiliated Hindustan FC 7-1. In their match against East Bengal, AIFF wet into lead through Gursim Raj's 15th minute field goal before East Bengal's Jiten restored the parity in the 34th minute.

A rejuvenated Kolkata-outfit, which had played a goalless draw against the TFA on Monday and beat Sesa Goa 3-2 in their round 2 outing on Wednesday, surged ahead in the 36th minute with Somnath converting a cross from the right.
 

East Bengal, however, could not maintain their lead for long as AIFF's forward Milan struck five minutes later to equalise.

After the change of ends, the teams traded attacks but without much success.

And in the injury time AIFF's Bidyananda converted a penalty awarded for a reckless tackle inside the opponent box.

AIFF in their round 1 match had beaten Hindustan FC 2-1 but lost to TFA 1-4 in the round 2.

In their match against Shillong Lajong, TFA captain striker K Udanta Singh struck twice in the 50th and 64th minute after a goalless first-half.

Shillong Lajong forward Lalrammuana, however, scored the solitary one in 77th minute.

Meanwhile, SESA Goa's Stephen netted four (44, 57,69 and 82nd) while forward Olvin scored a hattrick (30th, 33rd and 61st) in their 7-1 drubbing of Hindustan FC.

Tilak Subba scored the consolation goal in the 49th minute for Hindustan FC.
