Day three of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016 danced to tribal tunes with designers Anupama Dayal and Reynu Tandon showcasing their collections inspired by the secrets of the tribes.
Anupama did not use her bright floral prints this time for her collection "Fight and Feast," which was based on the tribes of Nagaland.
The designer shared her Naga stories through the line dominated by conventional Naga prints and patterns.
"Tribal for me is magnetic and the inspiration for the collection comes from my visit to Nagaland last year. It was a rewarding and enriching experience.
"People there are outstanding weaver and I have incorporated it my collection. It is a modern graphic adaptation of what I was inspired from," Anupama told reporters post the show.
The silhouettes were mainly crafted on the fabrics like khadi, silk, cotton, chanderi and pashmina.
Elephant, horse and drum prints plus check motif and stripes replaced the designer's signature floral patterns.
The collection with colour palette growing from white to yellow to orange to blue and black comprised dresses, skirts, tunics, kaftans, crop tops, asymmetric shirts and sarees.
Delhi-based designer Reynu Tandon, presented the kaleidoscopic designs of tribal culture through her collection "Meeting Coachella".
Describing her contemporary collection, Reynu said, "My collection is inspired by the modern woman of today, who travels globally and her ready to wear outfit makes a fashion statement in itself."
The designer hand-picked the new sand wash suede and felt fabric for the range.
Full of digital print and thread work the collection included silhouettes with balloon puff opulent sleeves, classic capes and chic heritage jackets.
The colour palette for Reynu's autumn-winter range was infused with white, red, mustard yellow and black.
The make and accessory also made an integral part of both the shows with designers using tribal jewellery, head gear, and neon eye make up.
