AIIA to organise two-day conference of heads of AYUSH National Institutes

With an aim to upgrade the quality of education, healthcare facilities in the AYUSH National Institutes, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) will organise a two-day conference of heads of these centres.

The inaugural session of the conference would be attended by Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik, the AYUSH Ministry said in statement.

Vvice chancellors of various health universities, directors of reputed research organisations and around 100 accomplished senior professionals from various national institutes, including IIT, DST, DBT, UGC, among others are expected to take part in the event.

 

It is also planning to join hands and sign memorandum of understandings with the Sports Authority of India, Indian Institute of Technology for collaborative ventures.

"There is a need for comprehensive review of traditional systems of medicine in terms of policy, legislation, regulation, research, development, financing, training and professional development, quality control and safety regulations of these systems of medicine," the statement said.

These steps would facilitate in generating competent and skilled healthcare professionals further, paving a way in healthy collaborations leading to development of integrated and cost-effective healthcare system, which would be more acceptable and beneficial to the ailing population.

Meanwhile, the Jiva Ayurveda launched first-of-its-kind diagnostic protocols for Ayurveda.

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH said, I congratulate Jiva Ayurveda for coming out with diagnostic protocols for Ayurveda, which is truly a unique achievement. Most practitioners of traditional systems of medicine are not able to communicate effectively with modern science.
