A team of doctors from AIIMS is leaving for Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, to attend to the victims of sterilisation tragedy which claimed the lives of eight women and left many in critical condition.
According to Health Ministry officials, the government of Chattisgarh has made a request to send a team of AIIMS doctors.
The state government is also sending a plane to ferry the doctors from here so that no time is lost.

The four-doctor team comprises Dr Anjan Trikha, Professor of Anaesthesia, Neena Malhotra, Professor of Gynaecology, Dr Sanjeev Sinha, Additional Professor Medicine and Dr Kapil Dev Soni, Critical Care specialist (Trauma care centre).
Health Secretary Love Verma said the "state government is sending a plane to ferry the team of doctors from here to ensure no time is lost and the doctors reach Bilaspur by tomorrow morning to attend to the patients."
Eight women have died and 52 others were hospitalised due to the botched procedure at a government-organised camp.
Around 60 women were admitted to different hospitals after they complained of complications following sterilisation surgery at the camp held at a private hospital in Pendari village on the outskirts of Bilaspur town on Saturday.
