Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry today announced a 'bandh' on April 24 in protest against reported shifting of AIIMS, sanctioned for Jammu, to the Kashmir Valley and took out a rally here.
"We have announced a bandh in Jammu on April 24 against the failure of the government to grant AIIMS to Jammu. We feel discriminated here," JCCI president Rakesh Gupta told reporters.
Gupta, who led a protest rally against the BJP-PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir over alleged discrimination with Jammu, said CCI lodges its strongest protest against the working of the present government and feels that the working system in the administration has totally collapsed.

He said People of Jammu feel totally dejected after no relief was announced in the state financial budget by the present government and non-acceptance of genuine and logical demands mostly for uniformity of VAT Tax, Amnesty for GST recoveries and also no relief given to the tourism sector.
"Chamber demands that there should be no toll tax for the passenger vehicles at Bantalab as mostly the route is used by the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi and Amar Nath Ji. Chamber also demands a high-level probe regarding the shelving of proposed flyover at Amphalla and BC Road," he said.
It demands completion of the already sanctioned projects along with new parking spaces, commercial spaces and toilets throughout the city in the new master plan. The Chamber also demands the existing bus stand be used as interstate bus terminal with immediate effect, he said.
