"We want Raiganj as AIIMS centre. The state government has said that there is not enough infrastructure for this, which is not true. The Centre is giving all the money, then why should the state object," Bhattacharya said at a public meeting here in Chaanchal sub-division.
He said that when it comes to development, no politics should get involved.
Congress MP Deepa Dasmunshi said the state government should come up with a clear land acquisition policy.
"They are saying we will not give any land. Then how will there be roads, schools and other developmental activities?," she said.
