Air China passenger plane makes emergency landing

The aircraft coming from Xiamen City in east China's Fujian Province to Beijing was forced to land in Hefei due to suspected mechanical faults in it

An Air China passenger plane today made an emergency landing in eastern China due to mechanical faults.

The flight CA1802 landed in Hefei which is the capital and largest city of Anhui Province.

The aircraft coming from Xiamen City in east China's Fujian Province to Beijing was forced to land in Hefei at 9:17 am local time due to suspected mechanical faults in it, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Number of passengers on board were not known.

According to reports, no one suffered injuries.

Passengers have been evacuated off the plane, which is undergoing repairs at the airport.
