Regional carrier Air Costa today said it will enhance connectivity on Chennai-Madurai-Chennai sector from next month.

With the launch of second flight to Madurai connecting Chennai, Hyderabad and Vijayawada, effective August 6, Air Costa customers will enjoy same day return flights between these cities, the airline said in a statement.

The introduction of these new flights will take the total number of daily services operated by Air Costa to 36 from across nine domestic airports, it said.

"It gives me immense pleasure in announcing this additional flight between Chennai and Madurai. Chennai-Madurai-Chennai sector has started attracting both leisure and business passengers in the recent past, and holds immense potential for Air Costa," airline's managing director LVS Rajasekhar said.

The Vijaywada-headquartered regional carrier, which commenced operations last October, aims to break even by next fiscal on the back of an expanded route network and fleet.

"We are hopeful of attaining a break even in the next 2-3 quarters," Air Costa chief financial officer Vivek Choudhary had recently said.

Besides, the airline also plans to apply for a pan-India licence once it demerges its aviation business.

Air Costa is run by Vijayawada-based real estate and renewable energy company LEPL.
