The mishap occurred when Satyendra Kumar Pandey, who was from Darjeeling and posted in Jaisalmer, and his friends were on their way back from Tanot Mata temple last evening, police said.
Satyendra and his friends halted at the canal to drink water. While fetching water, he slipped into the canal and drowned. PTI SDA
