Air India will operate additional flights from Chennai to Port Blair next month to cater to the increased traffic during the holiday season.
The additional flights on the route would operate between May 9 and 27, an official statement said today.
"The flight AI-1549 to be operated every Monday and Friday will leave from Chennai to Port Blair (in Andaman Islands) on May 9," a release from the national carrier said.

The government-owned airline had earlier this month announced additional services to some existing destination besides ramping up frequencies on two international routes as part of the ongoing summers schedule.
The airline has already increased frequency on the Mumbai -Bhopal sector with the addition of a daily return flight, to offer day-return facility to its passengers.
Besides, the airline will offer a daily return flight from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram which it has decided to operate with an Airbus A321 aircraft.
It has also rolled out a fourth service to Amritsar from the national capital as part of the enhanced schedule.
As part of the new schedule that came into effect from March 27 and will run up to late October, Air India has increased its flight services on the Delhi-Milan route to four-times-a-week as compared to three times earlier, while it has added one more flight to Moscow from New Delhi, which will now see three services per week, the airline had announced earlier.
