Air India has decided to waive the handling charges on the arms and ammunition carried by shooters travelling for competition in both its domestic and international flights.
Air India's handling charges for carriage of arms and ammunition stands at Rs 5000 plus taxes in the domestic sector and USD 100 (or equivalent amount) plus taxes for international flights.
But it has waived off the charges on shooters.

To avail the waiver, the shooters will have to furnish an identification document, which can be a photo ID card issued by a government agency or the federation.
They are also required to have valid arms licenses in their possession.
