Air Marshal Hari Kumar begins two-day visit of air force station in Jammu

Air Marshal C Hari Kumar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Western Air Command, began his two-day visit of the air force station, here Thursday.

He was accompanied by Devika Hari Kumar, president of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) and other dignitaries. The visiting party was received by Air Commodore Shashi Kant Mishra, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Jammu, and Nisha Mishra, president, AFWWA, said a defence spokesman.

Upon arrival, the AOC-in-C was given an impressive guard of honour by a well turned out contingent of Air Warriors of air force station, Jammu, the spokesman said.

The guard of honour parade was commanded by Lady Officer Squadron Leader Shweta Dhiman. After which, the AOC-in-C was introduced to the personal staff officers, commanding officers of various units, senior most warranted rank officials, DSC, non-combatant staff of air force station, Jammu.

 

The AOC-in-C was also introduced to senior defence civilian officials and the defence PRO, Jammu. Kumar then proceeded towards the Station War Memorial, which was dedicated in the memory of the brave air warriors who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation.

A wreath was laid at the war memorial by the AOC-in-C with bugle playing in the background. It was followed by a ceremonial guard of honour.

Later, the AOC-in-C was briefed on the current security scenario of the air force station here, the spokesman said.
