An aircraft cleaner who allegedly stole a laptop from an international flight was apprehended at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here today.

The person, identified as R K Sharma, was apprehended by CISF who were tipped-off about his activities.

Sharma, officials said, was employed by an aircraft cleaning agency operating at the IGIA.

Officials said the cleaner had allegedly stolen the laptop, a 'Sony' brand machine, from a British Airways flight which landed here from London and was parked for cleaning operations after the passengers had de-boarded.

The cleaner, they said, hid the laptop in a cavity in the aerobridge thinking he would collect it at an opportune moment but he was nabbed.

CISF officials later handed over Sharma to police who arrested him on theft charges, they said.
