A Mumbai-Goa SpiceJet plane, with 146 passengers on board, landed safely at Dabolim airport here, despite one of its tyres found damaged during its take-off in Mumbai.
The plane landed at Dabolim airport in Goa at its scheduled time of 12.45 pm.
"We received a message, which said that there was slight debris of tyre on the Mumbai runway left over when this flight took off for Goa," Dabolim airport director K Srinivasa Rao told PTI.

After that, the tyre of the aircraft was inspected, Rao said, adding, "It was found to have been worn out. Another tyre also had a little problem," he said.
Due to this snag, the aircraft, which was later supposed to fly back to Mumbai with 186 passengers, has been grounded at the airport.
"Around 120 passengers have been accommodated in a hotel, while a few others have been sent in a Delhi-bound SpiceJet aircraft, while a few others, who were local residents returned home. Special flight will be arranged for them tomorrow morning," said Rao.
