Airtel mobile TV app to provide free access to news channels

Telecom major Airtel today announced to provide access all available news channels for free through its mobile phone application Pocket TV.

"Airtel digital TV, the DTH service arm of the leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel will offer TV viewing free for its customers on its mobile application - Pocket TV, enabling them to stay tuned to live television action all day," Airtel said in a statement.

With this, customers across the country can now download the mobile application and enjoy two days of free viewing of all news channels (Hindi, English and vernacular) on the application and catch all the latest news updates on the poll results, it added.
 

The offer is only for May 15 and May 16 after which subscribers will need to activate services on Pocket TV for which they will be charge Rs 60 per month.

Idea Cellular too has come up with a special application 'MyNews to provide election related news for which subscriber will have to pay Rs 30 per month.
