Members of the All India Students' Association (AISA) from Delhi University today met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanding a roll back of the metro fare hike, besides seeking student-friendly public transport initiatives.

Meeting the CM after an hour of sloganeering outside his residence, the students raised a demand to validate Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) students' passes in air- conditioned buses also.

President, DU AISA, Kawalpreet Kaur said, "The CM extended his support and has promised to look into the issues. The movement will continue until the fare hike is rolled back. We will soon march to the prime minister's residence."

Other demands put forth were announcement of university special buses and introduction of 2,000 new buses, besides extending the validity of passes to six months.

The students, a few days ago, had organised a large-scale protest 'Occupy Vishwavidyalaya Metro' near the Vishwavidyalaya Metro station demanding the roll back.

"The CM has promised to ensure more DTC buses and also U (university)-special buses for DU colleges," Kaur said.
