The Delhi University unit of the All India Students' Association (AISA) today took out a candlelight march from Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station, demanding justice for Kathua and Unnao rape victims.

An eight-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. In Unnao in Lucknow, A 17-year-old girl alleged that she was raped by a BJP MLA.

"It's really shameful that a rape of a minor happens and the whole BJP machinery defends the accused and communalise the whole incident by organising rallies under the banner of Hindu Ekta Manch," AISA's DU unit president Kawalpreet Kaur said.

The march ended at Vijay Nagar.

The protesters demanded immediate arrest of all accused and sacking of BJP leaders who had supported the accused from the party.

"We also demand the Kathua case to be shifted to Srinagar or Delhi," Kaur said.
