Wild cards Aishwarya Patil Andalkar, Richa Chaugule and Malikaa Marathe created upsets to enter the girls singles quarterfinals of the BVG India -Arun Wakankar ATF Asian Under 14 Series Tennis Tournament today.
In second round action, wild card Aishwarya, granddaughter of former Olympic grappler Ganpat Andalkar, caused a major upset as she toppled top seed Sharron Williams 6-1 6-2.
Another wild card Richa Chaugule, also a local girl, upset third seed Archita Mhalawal 6-4 6-0 while the third wild card Malikaa Marathe - fresh from her triumph at the Ramesh Desai Under 12 nationals in Mumbai - drubbed seventh seed Aarya Patil 6-0 6-0 to enter the last eight.

Second seed Gauri Bhagia, no. 4 Nikhita Simhambhtla, no. 5 Sana Khanna, 6th seed Mubashira Shaikh and no. 8 Tannya Sah also made it to the quarter finals.
In the boys' section unseeded Gaurang Mishra upset fourth seed Arun Venkat Guruswamy of Australia 6-0 6-2 to make it to the quarters.
Top three seeds - Vandit Jaiswal, Vipul Mehta and Vansh Bhagtani - along with no. 6 Siddhant Bhavnani, also advanced into the last eight.
