Sikh terrorist Manpreet Singh, who fled to New Zealand in May 1999 while on bail, has been arrested at Delhi airport, Punjab police said today.
Manpreet, who was was a member of All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) in 1987 when he was booked under TADA, was arrested yesterday following a tip off soon after he landed at the airport in the national capital on a flight from Sydney, they said.
Sangrur police brought him here and produced him in a local court which remanded him in police custody for a day.

He said Manpreet along with other militants had attempted to murder the jail superintendent and a couple of militants lost their lives in police firing on jail premises.
Manpreet was released on bail by a court on May 27, 1999 during pendency of his trial under various offences.
He managed to flee to New Zealand and was declared a proclaimed offender.
The SHO said that the militant was brought by police party last night.
He said that the police would seek extension of his remand tomorrow to ascertain whether he had any militant links abroad.
