At a press conference, AITUC working president Gaya Singh said the issue would be discussed at the National Joint Consultative Committee meeting on wage revision for the steel industry workers on August 22 in New Delhi.
He said the union enters into wage agreements with the PSUs every five years and the validity of the last agreement was over as of December 2011.
Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam Steel Workers Union said the S R Jain committee report which probed the June 13 explosion at the plant that claimed 19 lives was an eyewash and no effort was made to fix responsibility for the explosion.
