Aizawl observes international movement against violence

Aizawl today observed the 'One Billion Rising' international movement protesting violence against women and children in its own unique way with music and songs. In the function organised by People United for Music with a Purpose (PUMP), an organisation of singers and musicians and Guwahati Social Media, the message of the event was propagated through music and songs. The event sponsored by the North East Network, the only feminist organisation in the region, was supported by pop groups, bands and the best singers in the state. In another function organised by the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), speakers urged the young people to openly speak out against the crime against women and children.
