"Ajit Singh last month wrote to Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and UP CM Akhilesh Yadav to include Baghpat in the NCR and mooting development for the region," Rashtriya Lok Dal said in release.
The National Capital Regional Planning Board has sought detailed reports from Uttar Pradesh government for the development of Baghpat district as a part for NCR Regional Plan 2021, which the state government has so far not submitted, it added.
Regional Development plan 2021 has identified Baghpat-Baraut as a regional centre and proposed to develop the region for advanced industrial and other economic activities and higher order service functions.
RLD, which has a base in western UP, has been saying Baghpat and Baraut are only 30km from the national capital and hence should be included in the region.
