The Associated Journals Limited (AJL) today announced the launch of its Urdu news website from tomorrow.

The urdu newspaper is one of the pioneers of pre- independence journalism and its publication was temporarily suspended in 2008.

The AJL, a company founded in 1937 by Jawaharlal Nehru and which also brings out National Herald, had appointed veteran journalist Zafar Agha as the Editor-in-Chief of its Urdu newspaper 'Qaumi Awaz' and digital properties in May.

AJL Chairman Motilal Vora on the launch of qaumiawaz.Com expressed confidence that Qaumi Awaz will soon regain the old glory that it had under the guidance of Nehru.

"It will give voice to the voiceless and be fierce in exercising its freedom of expression. I am glad to inform you that its print publication, is also in the process of being revived," he said.
