Akal Takht asks Sikhs to file petition in UN on '84 riots

Akal Takht, the top temporal seat of the Sikhs, today asked various groups representing the community to file a petition in the United Nations, seeking justice for the victims of 1984 riots.

Akal Takht head priest Gurbachan Singh said he had asked the All India Sikhs Students Federation and other Sikh outfits to file a petition, carrying a milliion signatures, pertaining to the '84 carnage before the UN.

The perpetrators of the violence should be brought to book at the earliest, he said.
