Shiromani Akali Dal activists today held a protest outside the residence of a spokesperson of Asaram Bapu, who had allegedly compared the self-styled godman with Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh religion.

The protesters gathered outside the house of Neelam Dubey at Sector-62 here and demanded her immediate arrest, police said.

Earlier, the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Committee had lodged an FIR against Dubey in New Delhi, alleging that she had hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by equating Asaram with Guru Nanak Dev.

The complaint alleges that the spokesperson made "objectionable" remarks against Guru Nanak Dev, Gautam Buddha and other religious leaders while reacting to the alleged charges of sexual assault on a minor girl against Asaram Bapu during a debate on a Hindi news channel recently.
