Akali Dal's youth wing activists stage protests against Rahul

Reports of protest demonstrations by YAD activists have been received from Ludhiana, Moga, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala and Muktsar

Activists of Youth Akali Dal today staged protests across Punjab against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi demanding that he should name the partymen who were involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The protesters also burnt effigies of Gandhi at different places in Punjab and the state's capital Chandigarh, said a spokesman of YAD, youth wing of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

Reports of protest demonstrations by YAD activists have been received from Ludhiana, Moga, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala and Muktsar.

The protesters demanded that Gandhi should name the Congress leaders whom he alluded to having played a role in the 1984 riots.
 

The protesters also accused Gandhi of "rubbing salt on wounds of victims of 1984 riots."

Leading the protesters at Ludhiana, YAD senior Vice President Manpreet Singh Ayali said that Gandhi should name the people who were behind the riots besides giving an account of what action was taken against these men by Congress.

At Moga, Akali youth activists under the leadership of Baljinder Singh Brar took out protest march and staged dharna in Majestic chowk where they burnt an effigy of Gandhi.

Gandhi in a recent interview is understood to have admitted that some Congressmen were involved in 1984 riots.
