Activists of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today burnt an effigy of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann for allegedly entering a religious function under the influence of liquor.
Mann's act was "unethical and disrespectful" towards Sikh holy book Guru Granth Sahib Ji, said Chairman of Punjab Khadi Board Rajwant Singh, who led the protest.
The protesters demanded action against Mann for allegedly attending a religious 'bhog' (post death ritual) of two Sikh youths killed in police firing during anti-desecration protests in Faridkot in an inebriated state.
