Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today opened to the public a flyover at the Mall Avenue railway crossing here.
The 655.95-metre elevated stretch was the bone of contention between the ruling Samajwadi Party and BSP as it lies in front of the opposition party's office and near the residence of its leader Mayawati.
The construction of the Rs 42-crore flyover started in June 2013. It was formally inaugurated by Yadav and former Chief Minister of UP and Uttarakhand N D Tiwari.
The chief minister also inaugurated a foot overbridge in Gomti Nagar area.
