Aksh Optifibre wins Rs 46 crore Jaipur smart city project

Aksh Optifibre Ltd today said it has won a project worth Rs 46 crore for development of smart city in Jaipur.

"Aksh Optifibre Limited...Has been awarded the eminent Jaipur Smart City Project," the company said in a statement.

Jaipur Smart City is a project led and implemented by Jaipur Smart City Limited, (JSCL) which invited bids for the development of smart road in ABD areas of Jaipur.

When contacted for additional details of the project, Aksh Optifibre deputy managing director, Satyendra Gupta said "The size of the deal is around Rs 46 crore. This is for development of smart city in Jaipur for 16 kms of area which would be where we would be deploying optical fibre network, mobile hotspots, smart lighting systems, surveillance system, smart parking, environmental sensors etc."
 

The project cost is divided into two parts -- capex, and operation and management. While the capex part will be decided by December 2018, the operation and management part will be stretched over a period of five years.

Aksh Optifibre is an over 30-year-old firm which started with the manufacturing of Optical Fibre (OF) and Optical Fibre Cables (OFC) in 1994. The company also facilitates e-governance services.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 22.7 on the BSE, up 4.85 per cent from previous close.
