Akshay began his acting career with action films like "Khiladi", "Waqt Humara Hai", "Mohra", "Suhaag", "Elaan" and "Khiladiyo Ka Khiladi".

The 44-year-old then chose to take a break from action films and went on to star in a series of romantic, comedy and drama movies. However, box-office failure of his films like "Chandni Chowk To China", "Kambakkht Ishq", "Khatta Meetha", "Action Replayy" and "Tees Maar Khan" dented his stardom.

Director Prabhu Deva's "Rowdy Rathore" marked the return of Akshay as action hero. The film, which hit theatres on June 1, has apparently joined the Rs 100-crore club and is said to have earned about Rs 114 crore in just two weeks.

"I am very much happy and thankful to the audience for their love and support. I love doing action, as Prabhu is a fantastic in that...I would love to do action all the time," Akshay told reporters here last night at the success party of "Rowdy Rathore".

He would be seen next in Milan Luthria's sequel of crime thriller "Once Upon A Time in Mumbai", "Khiladi 786", an action-comedy flick, Shirish Kunder's adventure project "Joker" and Neeraj Pandey's heist drama "Special Chabbis".

Akshay's co-actor in "Rowdy Rathore" Sonakshi Sinha, too, was ecstatic.

"I am on cloud 18...I feel I am lucky. I hope people keep accepting me and keep liking my work," Sonakshi said.
