Alagiri supporters held for 'defacing' public walls

Police said cases had been registered against the DMK men, including P M Mannan, former city Deputy Mayor, for wall writings without obtaining any permission and defacing the public walls.

Mannan, a close aide of Alagiri, lodged a complaint stating that AIADMK men were erasing their wall paintings and replacing them with their party advertisements. He claimed he and other DMK members were arrested when they went to complain about this.

Police said case had been registered against both DMK and AIADMK workers.
