China-based mobile phone firm Alcatel One Touch today partnered with wholesale mobility distributor BrightPoint to distribute and market its smartphones across west and south India.

"This partnership will enable easy availability of innovative and attractive smartphones, as the full range of products will now be available in the open market," the company said in a statement.

Alcatel One Touch, a brand of TCL Communication, will launch its range of smartphones in southern and western region of the country in the next few days.

The company said the pace of market expansion will increase with this tie-up as the products will be sold through multiple channels across India.

"Being confident with this partnership, we are committed and will address the unmet demand of Indian customers looking for a globally established and innovative smartphone with exciting specs and features at an attractive price," Alcatel One Touch Country Manager APAC (India Business Unit) Steven Zhao said.
