Officials in New Zealand have banned booze from AC/DC's upcoming concert in Auckland amid fears that drunk rock fans could wreak havoc in the city.
The band is due to play at the city's Western Springs Stadium on December 15, but the venue will now be an alcohol-free zone on the day of the show following a recommendation from the local police force, reported Guardian online.
Police officials asked the local council to grant a temporary ban on alcohol for 24 hours around the show, declaring in a letter that similar orders have "significantly assisted in curbing alcohol-related harm and offending in public areas".
Council chiefs have now approved the "dry zone" and AC/DC fans will be banned from drinking in the stadium and surrounding areas.
