Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Thomas Baldwin, have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, named Carmen Gabriela.

"We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter Carmen Gabriela. She is absolutely perfect. @ABFalecbaldwin @IrelandBBaldwin," the first-time mom announced via Twitter.

The yoga instructor and the 55-year-old actor had announced in March that they were expecting a daughter.

"Alec and I are overjoyed that we are going to be welcoming a little girl into our lives," she had said.

Bladwin, who already is a father to 17-year-old daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger, was just as excited to be a second-time dad.

"At this point, before the baby is born, he thinks he's going to be Mr. Mom. We'll see if at 3 o'clock in the morning when the baby is screaming and we need to change the diaper if he's going to be Mr. Mom at that point," Thomas Baldwin said.

The actor had also hinted in a June interview that he'd be willing to trade his Hollywood life to be a full-time family man this time around.

"I have one dream in my life and that is that this daughter I'm having -- she comes to me about seven or eight years from now, she has a friend, and she's at her house and she says, 'Daddy, Susie's mom says you used to be on TV. Daddy, is that true?' She has no knowledge of me as a public person. That would be heaven for me.

"I'd love to quit acting if I could, yeah. That would be the greatest thing in the world," he had said.

The couple married in June 2012 and first announced they were expecting on February 12, 2013.
