The 'Empire State of Mind' singer, who gave birth to her son Egypt two years ago, said she has used her own experience of motherhood as inspiration for her new interactive bedtime story, 'The Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee', reported Showbiz spy.

"I was just getting introduced to kind of the TV shows and the DVDs and all the things you start kind of introducing your kids to, and I thought how cool it would be to be a part of something that really allows them to hear music from different places, different cultures, different sounds. That's what we're able to do with this," she said.

The 31-year-old star, who is married to record producer Swizz Beatz, composed music for the app which tells the story of a young girl from New York and her relationship with her wise grandmother.
