Vice-Chairman of the Aligarh Development Authority has sought special security from police, alleging threat to his life from some influential builders and realtors in the city, sources said today.
In a letter yesterday to Aligarh division DIG Prakash D, Inderveer Singh Yadav requested special security for himself saying he had received death threats from some persons in the real estate business.
Taking note of the letter, divisional commissioner Kunwar Vikram Singh has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Yadav's letter follows a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and the state Lokayukta by the Aligarh Builders and Colonisers Association last week seeking a high-level probe into reports of 'large-scale corruption' in various housing schemes in the city.
