The 85th edition of the exhibition, being organised by the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS), was inaugurated by Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan.
"Its very easy to say I hate a certain colour. We don't have the depth to understand colours. Among the creation of God, I admire colour, music, water, air, flower," he said on the occasion.
Awards were presented to artists from all over the country in their respective fields which included painting, sculpture, drawing and graphics.
The president of AIFACS Ram V Sutar said, "this is a place which gives young artists a platform to expose their works to public and get recognition.
"Artists from all states, regions or schools learn the aesthetic values of their own works as well as in general but they all converge towards the society on a single platform to compare and compete," he said.
The exhibition will remain open till December 31.
