The Pakistan government has directed all its employees to submit details of income and assets in the last fiscal year ending June 30 by September 1 or face disciplinary action.
The Establishment Division informed all federal ministries, institutions and the governments of the four provinces, Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan through a notification.
Every civil servant has to file yearly details of personal and family assets under government rules, it said.
According to the rule, every government servant at the time of joining service should submit details of all immovable and movable properties, including shares, certificates, securities, insurance policies and jewellery having a total value of Rs 50,000 or more belonging to or held by him/her or a member of his/her family.
It further says government servants should submit annual declarations of income, assets and expenses for the financial year ending June 30, showing any increase or decrease of property as shown in the declaration of the last annual return.
The above rules have been enacted to curb corruption in government departments.
