Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today said that all possible help would be given to sportspersons in the police department to promote sports activities.
"Promoting traditional sports of the country was need of the hour. We will provide all the help to sportsmen of police department to promote sports activities, which are important for fitness too," Union minister of state for Home Rijiju said while addressing concluding ceremony of All India police aquatic and cross country race championship here.
On the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Javeed Ahmad said that soon appointments will be made on 2 per cent sports quota in the police department.
