"As a responsible member of the international community, India considers it a duty to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria. All sides should work for peace in Syria," Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed said in Kuwait.
The Minister, who is on a visit to that country, expressed India's concerns on the steep escalation of violence in Syria, and called upon all sides in the country to resolve all issues peacefully through discussions taking into account the aspirations of the people of the country.
Ahamed also said India values its ties with Kuwait and seeks to further expand them.
"India values its relationship with Kuwait and is committed to further strengthen and expand it," said Ahamed.
The minister was speaking at a reception hosted by India's ambassador to Kuwait, Satish C Mehta, where he also interacted with members of the Indian community.
Speaking about India's bilateral relations with Kuwait, he said that the bonds of friendship between the two countries have resulted in close political understanding and strong economic and cultural ties.
