Altogether 16,000 kilometres of village roads would be developed through launch of one kilometre all-weather roads in all 3349 gram panchayats in West Bengal from January seven to develop rural connectivity.
Four more rural roads in all gram panchayats would also be taken up on the same day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a Facebook post today.
She claimed that the initiative "has no parallel in the history of rural development in the country."
