First women from Northeast to successfully scale Mt Everest, Tine Mena, is leading a three- member women team from Arunachal Pradesh to Himachal Pradesh in a bid to conquer 6,443 metres high Mt Menthosa.
Mena, along with her two teammates, is set to join nine others from seven states of the country at the 'All Women' Expedition in Himachal Pradesh scheduled from June 28 to July 28, Arunachal mountaineering association's honorary secretary Tsering Wange said here today.
The expedition, organised by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), will, apart from Arunachal Pradesh, include women participants from Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Sikkim, Uttarkhand, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Mena, in her another quest, will be bolstered by the presence of her two partners from the State - Apali Lombo, a resident of Malini village in Dibang Valley district and Muri Linggi, who is working as a peon at government Abali Middle School, Lower Dibang Valley district.
