Alleged drug trafficker arrested

An alleged drug trafficker has been arrested and 1.3 kg heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore in the international market has been recovered from him by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

On Thursday, police got information that a person involved in trafficking of drugs in the city would come to Loni Road to supply a consignment of drug.

"A trap was laid and the alleged drug trafficker was nabbed. He was identified as Parvez Alam, a resident of Bhajan Pura area in Delhi. We recovered 1.3 KG of heroin from his possession. A case under the appropriate sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Crime Branch Police Station and he was arrested," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand.
 

To earn quick money he started trafficking and selling drugs in the local area. He procured heroin from a drug trafficker of Bareilly, UP and sold it in Delhi. He used to mix other medicines to enhance the quality of heroin.

Further investigation in this case is in progress, police said.
