Alleging 'harassment', Radiology student ends life in AP

A second year post-graduate student of GSL Medical College here allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.

Sri Lakshmi, a meritorious student, who was pursuing Radiology at the GSL College, took the extreme step last evening, they said.

A suicide note recovered from her house said that she was ending here life due to alleged harassment by a professor and a student.

However, Principal YSN Sarma said Lakshmi was not coming to college for past four months due to some 'psychiatric' problem. We informed the matter to her parents and they took her away in November 2013, he said.
 

The Chairman of GSL Medical College, G Bhaskar condoled the death.

The body of the 28-year-old victim was shifted to Kakinada Government General Hospital for post mortem.

Kakinada police has registered a case and investigations are on.
