Officers captured the alligator yesterday.
"They controlled the alligator and held it while waiting for the Nassau Emergency Services Unit," police said. The reptile was later placed in a cage.
It was the third alligator found roaming free on Long Island in less than a week. On Tuesday, a 2-to-3-foot gator was found there. PTI
