Questioning Rahul Gandhi's claim that there is massive progress in Kashmir, hardline Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani today said the Congress leader will come to know about the real mood of people in the Valley if the separatist leadership is allowed to carry out political activities.

"The change in mood that Rahul Gandhi talks about has been achieved by killing 125 persons, injuring 3,800 and framing 5,800 youths in various cases," Geelani said in a statement here.

Geelani alleged that a silence has been enforced in Kashmir using the police and Army, which the Congress leader has interpreted as a change in the sentiment of people.

"Remove the curbs on people and allow the freedom-loving leadership to carry out political activities, Rahul Gandhi will come to know the real mood of the people," he said.

Gandhi, during his visit to Kashmir on Saturday had said, "there is massive progress in Kashmir, there is a progress in the sentiment of the people, there is progress in the connectivity Kashmir is having, there is progress in tourism. So we are on a upward forward path and are not going to back down. We are going to ensure that people of Kashmir get the development they deserve.
