Almond declines on reduce offtake

Almond prices fell by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today due to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists amidst increased arrivals from overseas markets.

Almond (California) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 18,800 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 665-675 per kg.

Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists amidst increased arrivals from overseas markets.

Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):

Almond (California) Rs 18,800, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,200-8,400; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,500-6,600; Abjosh Afghani Rs 14,000-21,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 665-675 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 600-700 per kg.
