Almond prices fell sharply by Rs 300 per 40 kg in an otherwise steady wholesale dry fruits market today owing to slackened demand from retailers.
However, other dry fruits continued to move in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at last levels.
Traders said sluggish demand from retailers mainly pulled down almond prices.
In the national capital, almond (california) declined by Rs 300 to Rs 15,800-16,000 per 40 kg. Its kernel also eased by Rs 10 to Rs 570-580 per kg.
