Almond up on rising demand

Almond rose by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today on the back of rising demand from retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.

Almond (California) prices were up by Rs 100 to Rs 23,200 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also higher by Rs 5 to Rs 790-810 per kg.

Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up almond prices at the dry fruit market here.

Following are today's quotations (per 40 kgs):

Almond (California) Rs 23,200, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,500-10,800; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 7,100-7,300; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.
 

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 790-810 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 750-825 per kg.
